drawing pictures

my big toenail has 3 colours: a thin white semi circle. then a broad pink band. and then a thin purple semi circle at the top. my feet lie crossed on one of the green swivelling chairs that lie abandoned at various angles in vague semblances of any order. my feet are tanned. i can see a clear outline of the straps of my chappals. i rub my pad of my right thumb along the outline on my right foot. i look up as my hair slips out from my rubber band. tch. 'tis annoying. there are far too many of these chairs here, i realise. they're ugly as well. green with black plastic handles. someone sleeps, stretched across two of the green cushions. the four tiny wheels on the chair squeak as he shifts in his sleep. the tiles on the floor are marble lookalikes. i bend over my chair. the tile to my right reminds me of how my grandmother's hair used to look when it was freshly washed. thick grey with white combed through it.
the airconditioning has switched on and off far too often today. and the afternoon sunlight drenched me with animated patterns made by the green blinds along the big glass windows. it all looks far too sanitary but for the pink and white plastic-paper glass of watermelon juice and the remnants of a vegetable puff on the table. the electricity has been in a mood today, throwing innumerable tantrums. everytime it goes off, the computer screens still flicker along with the hum of the generator in the long dark sterile lab. it looks pretty. only the light of the monitors, seated in a neat school single file shines on my face as i continue talking into the screen.
my old-look silver earrings lie forgotten in front of me. they lost the battle to the irritation they were causing on the nape of my neck. they're a pretty pair though. ill show them to you sometime. the cut on my index finger hurts. ow. ow. it feels stiff and everytime i bend the finger, the damn dried slit hurts.
